​SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Zumba with Adaia, will be by video on Thursday, October 12th.
  • We are happy to announce that we are a Silver Sneakers Fitness Facility. For more information contact Sharon Andrews at (830) 438 - 3111.
  • BSBAC Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, October 16th at 10:30 am. Kim Kelley will give a year summary of highlight. There will be a short memorial service for members who have passed and board members will be elected. Please make plans to attend. Absentee ballots are now available at the front desk. Your membership dues must be current in order to be able to vote. Early voting for members starts on Monday, October 9th and ends on Friday, October 13th.
  • Quilting Group
     meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Take note of the time change: 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm.    
  • Medicare open enrollment begins on October 15th and ends on December 7th. Start reviewing your coverage and take the opportunity to adjust if need be. We will have several opportunities for you to meet with insurance representatives who can help you. United Healthcare will be here on Thursday, October 19th.Please sign up if you are interested.
  • Senior Night Out is returning on Sunday, October 22nd. The theme is Halloween. There will be a prize for the best costume. Please add your name to the list if you are planning to attend.
  • Appointments for technology classes with George from A to Z Helpers are available for Friday, October 27th. Bring your laptop, cell phone, iPad, iPod, etc., for hands on instruction. Please sign up for an appointment. This will be the last visit until next year.
  • Mark your calendars: Halloween Bunco will be on Thursday, October 26th from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Prizes will be awarded to the best costume.                   
  • 17th Annual Craft Show- Saturday, November 11th. 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. It's time to reserve a spot. If interested, stop by and fill out an application or simply contact Mariana at moutlaw@bsbac.com for more information.
  • FRIENDLY REMINDER: we ask that those members and guests that come to the center, check-in on the computer at front desk for all activities, lunch, gym, etc.

  Thank you to the City of Bulverde, the Bulverde Police Department, Dr. Rodriguez and staff from WellMed and The Heights of Bulverde for hosting the Third Annual National Night Out Luncheon this past Tuesday.
Everyone enjoyed Bill Miller's BBQ. It was a great gathering.

BOOKKEEPER: Non-Profit Organization, Part Time: 10 - 15 hours/week onsite with a flexible work schedule in a casual work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understanding of Accounting Financial Reports
Work collaboratively with all staff
Payroll / Taxes
Sales Taxes
Reconcile Accounts
Prepare Deposits
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bookkeeping Experience Required
QuickBooks Experience Required
Basic Financial Accounting Concepts
Microsoft Office Suites proficient (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Strong administrative skills (filing, scanning, copying and organizational skills)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Bookkeeping: 5 years
QuickBooks: 2 years
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Non-profit: 2 years

BSBAC ANNUAL MEETING

BUSINESS MEMBERSHIP

Business members are those business professionals who share the aims and ideals of the Center, support us through their activity and financial participation and who supply supporting or ancillary services associated with the programs provided by the center.

Annual Business Membership dues are $250.00 per year.

BUSINESS MEMBER BENEFITS INCLUDE: 
* Listing in annual Member Directory along with business         card size ad.
* 4"x 6" advertisement in center calendar for one month.
* Space at annual 5K Fundraising Event.
* Complimentary membership for up to five (5) organization employees/residents; additional employees/residents receive 50% off annual membership fees.
(Personal membership/liability form must be completed for company individuals wishing to access center services.)

GIFT SHOP
Is a place where you can find a handmade card to send a message to that special someone or that one of a kind gift,
 especially as the holidays approach. We are revamping our little store and are in need of your generous donation. Our store inventory is low and we would like for new or gently used items.  Please contact the office for suggested donations.

CARD CREATIONS
They meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday 
of the month at 10 a.m. 

You will learn how to assemble two unique cards which will be sold at our gift shop. First time card creation members will make one card to sell in the Gift Shop and another to take home. No experience necessary. Everything is provided. The class concludes around noon.

Another way our center raises funds for operations is through the sale of gift cards.  We may be able to help you with your gift giving needs while earning money to support the center.

Inclement Weather Procedure

The next several months may present opportunities for inclement weather. If bad weather is in the forecast, the Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center will follow COMAL ISD school closures.  You are encouraged to access the following news sources for up-to-date information.

 
San Antonio TV Stations:   KENS, KABB, KSAT, and WOAI
Area Radio Stations: WOAI 1200 AM, KTSA 550 AM, KGNB 1420 AM/KNBT 92.1 FM

Cable TV Information:
 New Braunfels
 
On mornings when possible hazardous conditions exist, school officials will check the roads. The Superintendent will inform area radio stations by 6 a.m. Earlier notices will be given the previous day or evening, whenever possible. Please check these sources before venturing out on the roads.

The center will initiate an automated phone call to alert members of center closure or delay in opening. If you did not receive a phone call about the recent closing, please let us know so that we can update your information.
