Quote of the Week
"Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning."
~ Mahatma Gandhi
Support a worthy cause
The need for our services never diminishes, but your support grows even more crucial.
For 26 years, the center has been committed to being an active force in pursuing our mission to facilitate active aging in place. This year we have seen great successes providing resources to over 600 community seniors. We offer nutritious meals, socialization, educational opportunities, fitness programs, transportation and access to information and services.
We serve over 1,400 meals per month including our dining room and Meals on Wheels deliveries. For some of our seniors, the daily meal is their only nutritious meal of the day. Many deal with ongoing food insecurity.
We are not funded by local or federal taxes, yet are a leading provider to seniors and their families in the western Comal County area. Help us continue our mission by making a financial contribution today. Your support will help the Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center continue to meet the needs of today's seniors and their families, and ensure a place for the elders of tomorrow. Every donation will go directly to support existing programs and services.
Our seniors need us now and we must be there. With your help we will not fail.
Nutritional/Outreach Programs- Provides on-site congregate meals, Meals on Wheels to the homebound, well checks, and outreach services that enable isolated or homebound to thrive. Almost 17,000 meals are served annually to area seniors including Meals on Wheels. $780 is the yearly cost to sponsor five (5) meals a week to a senior. Your gift will allow us to continue to serve them in their time of need.
Social Activity Program-Provides educational, information, social and stimulating activities that guard against isolation and depression.
Fitness Program - Provides a variety of fitness classes and a gym so that seniors keep moving to improve strength and balance.
Transportation Program -Center bus transports isolated seniors to the center for meals and activities.
Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center is ta 501(c) 3 non-profit. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law.
Please consider becoming a Community Partner and including the center in your upcoming annual budget.
Community Partners have opportunities throughout the year to sponsor programs, activities, events and fundraisers. Each of these provide marketing for your organization and help to provide services to our area seniors. We are pleased to recognize individuals and organizations in various ways depending on the level of sponsorship. The listing below provides some examples of our 2018 opportunities. Please contact our office for specific details about events and sponsorship levels.
