Our Quilting Group is looking for new friends to join in the fun!  They meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, 1:30 pm, here at the center.

 
On Wednesday, the 26th, the Quilt Group continues the 3 Dimensional and Illusion series by learning the Open Block pattern.  Looks intricate but it's so easy and only 9 pieces (using 5"x 44" strip each of  Dark, medium and light material) a 60 degree Triangle, rotary cutter and your machine, or just needle and thread to baste.
 
Barbara Lewis-Harris is available for information and any questions that you may have.  She can be reached at 210-490-7813.

The Center will have a booth serving Lemonade and Frito Pie during Chamber Market Day.  We are asking for volunteers to sign up for a 2 hour shift between the hours of 8am and 4pm.  

 
The sign up sheet is on the information wall in the foyer or call Sharon to sign up - 830-438-3111.

 
This is a great opportunity to raise awareness about the great things going on at the center! Please consider participating.

  

Please consider recycling your clean shopping bags here at the center.  

 
We use them for our Meals on Wheels program.

Library staff will be here at the center again on Monday, May 1st.

Have you tried Tai Chi? 
 
Now is a great time! Meet our instructor and get your questions answered at the Run for the Hills.

Tai Chi Class is a 1 1/2 hour class, beginning at 8:30 am. Beginners will start at 8:30 am then will overlap into the regular class at 9:00 - 10:00 am. Current participants are welcome to join the class at 8:30 or 9:00 am.

 

 
You do not have to be a member to attend this informative meeting.

Are you interested in hosting a table at this year's event?? 
Hostesses create different themed tables that are enjoyed by everyone.  It is such a fun event!

 
Our next meeting will be at the center in May.

 
If you have already decided to participate and know the theme of your table, please call the office and let us know.

 
We are getting low on our inventory of wheelchairs, elite walkers and shower chairs. We loan these at no cost to those in need.

If you have one that you aren't using and need a place to donate, we can certainly use it here!


 
The Widowed Persons Lunch will be at Antlers Cafe on May 18th at 11:00 am.  Meet here at the center at 10:30 am to carpool or go directly to the restaurant at 11:00 am.
 
There will be games at the center following lunch.

Our Gift Shop needs donations of quality used items to sell. Keep us in mind when you are sorting through things while spring cleaning!
  

 
BSBAC Gift Shop located at the center sells quality items at bargain prices!  Our gift shop is a great source of revenue for the center.  Stop by to see the inventory which changes frequently.  

 

 
Our bus schedule is Monday - Wednesday.  If you would like to be placed on the list to be brought to the center and taken home, please call Sharon at

Our Nutrition and Outreach program is looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen and to deliver Meals on Wheels.

Another way our center raises funds for operations is through the sale of gift cards.  We may be able to help you with your gift giving needs while earning money to support the center.

Business Memberships 
 
Business members are those business professionals who share the aims and ideals of the Center, support us through their activity and financial participation and who supply supporting or ancillary services associated with the programs provided by the center.

 
Annual Business Membership dues are $200 per year.
 
 
Business member benefits include:
  • Listing in annual Member Directory along with Business Card size Ad
  • 4"x6" Advertisement in center calendar for one month
  • Space at annual 5K Fundraising Event
  • Complimentary membership for organization employees
(Personal membership/liability form must be completed for company individuals wishing to access center services.)

Join us for our Fellowship Meals!

 

Fellowship Meals are Monday through Friday at 11:30 am.

 

 Our meals are open to the community and offer well-balanced nutrition. The suggested donation is only $3.00.

Inclement Weather Procedure

 

 
The next several months may present opportunities for inclement weather. If bad weather is in the forecast, the Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center will follow COMAL ISD school closures.  You are encouraged to access the following news sources for up-to-date information.

 
 
San Antonio TV Stations:   KENS, KABB, KSAT, and WOAI

Area Radio Stations:  WOAI 1200 AM, KTSA 550 AM, and KGNB 1420 AM/KNBT 92.1 FM

Cable TV Information:  New Braunfels
 
On mornings when possible hazardous conditions exist, school officials will check the roads. The Superintendent will inform area radio stations by 6 a.m. Earlier notices will be given the previous day or evening, whenever possible. Please check these sources before venturing out on the roads.

 
The center will initiate an automated phone call to alert members of center closure or delay in opening. If you did not receive a phone call about the recent closing, please let us know so that we can update your information.
