The Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center delivers Meals on Wheels Monday through Friday to various parts of Comal County.  Frozen meals can also be delivered for the weekend or holidays.  Our home delivered meal program provides hot and nutritious meals for anyone who is home-bound and qualifies for our program.

To qualify you must be:
  • 60 years of age or older
  • Unable to prepare a meal or have one prepared
  • Homebound
  • Others with special needs may be eligible if funding is available or they are unable to go to a senior nutrition center for lunch.

Congregate Site

In addition to the home delivered meals, the center offers hot, nutritious lunches at the center to seniors who wish to socialize, make new friends or participate in activities before and after meal.  There is a suggested donation of $3.00 per meal but we do not refuse anyone regardless of their ability to pay.

Meals are served every Monday through Friday at 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.   Fellowship meal has a suggested donation of $3.00.

Volunteer

We are always in need of volunteers to help with the route delivery, substitute for meal deliveries and help with kitchen/meal preparations. Volunteers are an important role to ALL non-profit senior meal programs! You don't have to just be a cook or have a lot of time. Just a few hours a month can go a long way. Many homebound have low social activity, so seeing a volunteer's smiling face when they receive a meal is sometimes their only daily contact. Your efforts going in with "eye's opened" during these daily contact's help keep us aware of the needs for the homebound that could be met through our outreach services and community programs.  Keeping them aware of assistance and community partnership increases their chances of living independently in a safe environment and decreases their lack of fear of just being out there alone. Our program is about more than just a meal!

Come help us to continue to make a difference in our community! Without volunteers this program could not succeed!

Please contact Andrea Jenkins at ajenkins@bsbac.com or 830-438-3111  to volunteer for this rewarding opportunity to serve the Bulverde/Spring Branch Community. Please call with any questions or concerns from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM daily!

If you are interested in being part of our team of volunteers, please call Andrea Jenkins at 830-438-3111 or email at ajenkins@bsbac.com. Our printable volunteer forms are available through the following links for your convenience.
