Community Service & Outreach Programs

Members and Volunteers are provided opportunities to socialize and support the community.

The Center plays a vital role as a resource center in the lives of seniors in the Comal and N. Bexar County area. According to the Texas State Data Center Demographer’s Office estimates, 42% of the population in Comal County are age 50+. We are conscious of the changing demographics in our center's service area and are committed to growing and adapting our center to meet the emerging needs.  Program objectives include Community Services and Outreach Program, Nutrition Programs, Health and Fitness Programs, Social Activity Programs and various Educational Programs.

Community Services and Outreach Programs provide Home Delivered and Congregate meals five days a week to insure seniors are getting healthy meals and social interaction.

We are offering more outreach services to our homebound clients due to an increase in our volunteers.  For instance, by developing more volunteers for outreach services, we have been able to help accompany meals on wheels clients to the grocery store, to get haircuts, assist with rides to doctors’ appointments and pick up prescriptions since they are homebound. We have also been able to help secure home repairs and assistance with pets.  These services, along with our Meals on Wheels program, enabled them to continue living independently in this rural community of Bulverde/Spring Branch, TX.  Without family nearby, many are grateful for center services.

We believe that our Center, with its dedicated staff and volunteers, improve the quality of life for those members and clients which we serve.  We are excited about the prospect of partnering with you.
